In "fokus" by Gabriela Löffel the viewer observes the intense expressions and reactions of four women responding to the power of a gun.

The women focus their entire bodies in anticipation of the impending shot while only their drawn-out breath and finally the shot itself is heard.

During the impressive recoil of the weapon, the women ellict expressions mixed with part-fear part-triumph. Gabriela Löffel poses with “fokus” the question of how weapons are represented in the media and how these representations impact our own perceptions via the gender specificity of such scenes.
